Uhmwpe pipe used as Flue-gas desulfurization process pipeline

In a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems, limestone slurry reacts with the flue gas thus removing the SO2, in the process, limestone slurry is converted into a calcium sulfate slurry. The waste products are then pumped from the bottom of the FGD spray tower for further treatment, through slurry pipelines.

There will be corrosion to parts of absorption tower, clean flue and inlet flue of absorption tower.

There will be wear to absorption tower, slurry pipeline, pump casing and impeller.

The presence of chloride ions and sulfate ions start from the weak point of the anti-corrosion layer and slowly corrodes.

Excessive dust and Sio2 content leads to high wear to slurry pipeline.

This requires pipeline with performance of anti-corrosion and anti-wear.

UHMWPE pipe, with the best chemical inertness and abrasion resistant, is ideal to be chosen as FGD process slurry pipeline.
